Idar Oberstein is rich in places of discovery for agates. This becomes particularly clear at the findings along the main street. The house numbers 146, 126, and 242 show different types of agate and are nevertheless found at the same road. The agates of the main street 126 are shown in the Edelsteinmuseum in Idar. Remarkable are their good quality and the enormous size.
