home / agates worldwide / Europe / Germany / Palatinate / Giro Quarry, Dannenfels

The giro quarry is under collectors famous for its late crystallization sequences, which include calcite, barite, many very beautiful zeolites and rare sulfides. The agate finds in the quarry remain rather rarely. The amygdaloite uncovered so far were usually very small-scale and run after short time into the crusher. The agates of the quarry giro are intensively colored and remind a little of the agates from the Kuhn quarry near Waldhambach.
