An unusual variety of chalcedony is the banded flint from Poland. It is originated in the Holy-Cross-Mountains in Malopolska (Little-Poland). Here it was minened from our ancestors and used for knapping. Today it is used by jewellery-designers to produce uncommon but artifical jewellery.

Very typically for this material are the creamy colours and the banded formation. Whole concretions are showing an orbicular structure.
