An unusual variety of chalcedony is the banded flint from Poland. It is originated in the Holy-Cross-Mountains in Malopolska (Little-Poland). Here it was minened from our ancestors and used for knapping. Today it is used by jewellery-designers to produce uncommon but artifical jewellery.
Very typically for this material are the creamy colours and the banded formation. Whole concretions are showing an orbicular structure.
ÄSimilar material occurs in Germany in Eckernförder Bucht , but also in China.
More informations about the locality and the formation of this material are given under www.flintsource.net and at www.krzemien-sandomierz.pl
