In october 2006 windmill construction operations took place above the little village Fohren-Linden. While these workings, a lot of beautiful agate nodules could be found by agate-collectors.

Most of the enormous nodules contained only phanerocristallinic quartz (“quartz-balls”) as smoky quartz or amethyste. The agate containing nodules were reaching sizes up to 20 cm in diameter. The agates from Fohren-Linden are showing a finelined pattern, some in vibrant colors.
