home / agates worldwide / Europe / Germany / Palatinate / Albersweiler Quarry

Near to the very famous agate-location of Kuhn Quarry (Waldhambach) the not so well known Quarry of Albersweiler is situated. In the upper layers of the local rock are little nodules quiet common - but they are mostly filled up with carbonates. Agates are really difficult to be found in this quarry.

But sometimes these nodules can have fillings of several little agate formations in one nodule.

From this place known are interesting pseudomorphic formations after fibrous crystals (zeolithc minerals or aragonite).
