On the fields around Winnenberg agates are on two different places of discovery situated. The one is primary nature, i.e. the agates are to be found, where they have been formed. One recognizes them by their typical brown and pink colors, as well as by their still original external crust. The second type is of secondary nature. Here the agates were moved and deposited at their current place of discovery. It is recognizeable mainly by the edge-rounded form of the nodules.
Jaspis occurs likewise in Winnenberg. A characteristic represents the occurrence of white pseudomorphs after aragonite in the middleof the jasper vein. As inclusions in Jaspis pseudomorphs are very rare.
