home / agates worldwide / Europe / Germany / Rhinehessia / Wendelsheim / Teufelsrutsch

The ”Teufelsrutsch” is a popular viewing point over the Wiesbachtal . Although this place most easily reached via Nack, the area still belongs to Wendelsheim. East of the actual viewpoint a woodland is adjacent where  several outcrops for agates are situated.

Extremely interesting agates were found in a small dig at the ”Teufelsrutsch”, showing combinations of fortification agate with "Water-level-agatee" along with intense colors and partially spherulitical formation. The site was recultivated to its original state after this procedure and is now not more giving any finding opportunities.

The area described here is partly private grounds and partial nature reserve. You will not leave paths and trails through the reserve. In the private part of this zone, at present no excavation permits are given.
