A large basalt quarry is located about 1 km west of Weitendorf. Good finds could be made here in the northeast to eastern part of the quarry. Geodes are filled with quartz, amethyst, aragonite, calcite and chalcedony in the upper parts of the shoshonitic basalt. The chalcedony is usually weak banded and of a greyish to bluish color.
