Near the city of Triberg in the Black Forest there is an occurrence of so-called "silicified tuffs", which are quite polishable. Their high-contrast pattern obtained through secondary enrichment of iron pigments. Some pigmentation is carried out according to the principle of the Liesegang´schen rings.
