Near Tizi n Tichka is one of the important passes over the western Atlas Mountains. Most of the excavation in this region are done by natives  to mine geodes.  In these geodes pseudomorphs from Chalcedony after acicular and platy crystals, sometimes rhomboedrical (pseudocubic) minerals can be found. The miners dump the agates and sell only the geodes.
