If you were looking north, while standing on europes biggest ancient castle, you can see a steep ridge. On top of this ridge, several well known agate-deposits are located (like Eckersweiler, Mettweiler, Breitsesterhof ... ). Little rivers running down from the ridge brougth a lot of interesting rocks down to the valley. With a lot of fortune you can find very nice samples of good coloured and nicely structureted agate on the acres and fields around the ruins of Lichtenberg castle.
