The better times - easy walking at the shoreline, picking up only the best specimen of fine agatized corals, collecting them in big amounts - for this locality they are gone. Today the coast is privatized and decorated with small houses and high fences. You have to use the low tides far from the shore to find a few poor secimen for your collection.
But these agatized corals are classical collectors items because of their fine preservation and nicely structured and coloured agate in the center. Most of them are hollow and are showing stalactitics of chalcedony in red, yellow, blue or white tones. Sometimews they are presenting glittering druzy quartz-crystals. It is possible to cut them trough or to polish only the outside of these specimen - both will produce outstanding collectors items.
