Sidi Rahal is one of the agate locations in the western Atlas Mountains. Most of the excavation by natives is to mine amethyste geodes. The structure of the agates is quite similar to those of Asni: pseudomorphs, stacked spherulitical agate layers, hemi-agates and similar colours - beginning with a red edge. Sidi Rahal agates differ from those of Asni by their size (generally larger) and less frequent occurrence of unusual structures.
