Petrified wood still occurs at the finding location  Sandkaul in the original permokarbonic sediment-layers. In the following southern range, which already belongs to the boundary of Schwarzerden, the wood was already partly besieged. The pattern of the specimen however shows no differences. The wood is very seldom fissure-free, as with the beautiful cabochon shown here.
