My Birthplace, Sankt Wendel is in the center of very important agate-finding locations such as Freisen or Steinbach or many others. In historical papers it is mentioned as an important agate-finding-location itself. But so far I never saw a specimen found recently near to the town.

While building-operations in the “Mott”, an formerly moorland region near to the city, nice specimen of coloured petrified wood could be found in the gravel-sediments of  the Blies brook.
