High Hopes - the baumholder bypass should bring new findings in minerals and agates. But besides a zeolithic mineralisation south of the township of baumholder only a few vein agates from the bypass bridge near Ruschberg were the notable new possibilities to hound for rocks.
In 2012 some construction work was done below and adjacent to the bridge, which allowed some rare finds. Nodules with typically low proportion of agate but with beautiful intergrown carbonates and pseudomorphs of oxidic iron minerals after carbonates have been found.
