Cherry to orange coloured carnelians are found in several mines in the Lebanon area. In literature you´ll find these mines called “Polly ( Molly ) Drummond agate beds”. These carnelians are secondary coloured agates. First they were greyish-bluish to white banded but they soaked iron-bearing humidity from their environement - so they were coloured reddish. By carefull heat-treatment the colours can be enhanced.
