These agate formations were originally called after their special form crater agates. Beside its hollow inside formed from large spherulites a red colouring of the center also often supports this comparison. However there are meanwhile also solid agates known. The location is situated north of the Piedra Parada. After the name owner of the obvious Ranch this material is called also “Orelanitas”.
