During the development of the federal highway B 41 between Niederbrombach and Oberbrombach agate-bearing zones only within the upper range of the roadcut, near Oberbrombach showed up. The agate-nodules are partially of enormous size and very beautiful blue-red colouring. They exhibit however beside numerous clefts a multiplicity of cavities, which are to due to formerly existing and now solved calcite-crystals. Unfortunately also no complete nodules, but usually fragments were found due to the frequent tores.

* Following the verbal report of a collector (J.Goerres) the most beautiful of these agates did not come from the road construction workings. Their origin was an excavation for the production of hard rock in the proximity of the building site. Here the agates emerged in a depth of more than five meters.
