During the building of the road covering the Nahe river in the years 1980 to 1985 only a few finds of exceptionel agates were made. One cause was on the one hand the strictly accomplished construction supervision and the second cause were the only few done cuts into the volcanic rock.

One of these rare cuts was on height of the Effgen Co. Here agates in in reddish and brownish tones could be found.Mossy-agate-similar formations are interesting in the external area of one nodule from this location.
