During the building of the road covering the Nahe river inthe years from 1980 to 1985 only a few finds of exceptionel agates were made. One cause was the strictly accomplished construction supervision and the second cause was the lack of cutting into the primary volcanic rock. Finds were limited in the main to agates, which were picked up from the gravel deposits.

For this for example the piece presented here counts: It was found by Peter Jeckel approximately around 1982 at the western beginning of the Nahe river covering, on height of the station. It presents itself from the outside as unreeled peeble with agate weathered strongly. On the inside it shows surprisingly a broad cleft healed by carbonates beside Liesegang rings and diffusion features in form of dark red volumes and lines, beautifully contrasting with the bright basic hue of the agate.
