When behind the rocklock of the Almerich, underneath the railway tunnel, the areas for the new fair Idar Oberstein, were prepaered, it was very improbably that in the shifted Nahe River sediments - which consist here mainly of quarzite-pebbles - agates could be found. Therefore here also nobody searched. While collecting beautiful large pebbles for our crustacean-aquarium found then nevertheless my wife the agate specimen shown here.
