An internationally well-known place of discovery for beautifully patterned Rhine-Hessian agates is the area around the small town Nack. However this degree of fame is responsible for the difficulties nowadays to make acceptable finds. On a training ground for Moto Cross bikes, it is again and again possible to make finds of interesting formated agate nodules in particular if larger earth movements are accomplished (so in 2008 and 2009).
The agates occurring here are finely banded and dominated of different grey tones. Even if brown and reddish, as well as more rarely also yellow colouring steps in addition to these basic tones, very beautiful specimen are resulting.
