The agate-deposit of Mount Hay is very famous for its “star-agates. These lithophysae (“thundereggs”) have become very important for the believers in “esotherical sciences”. Besides the classical Lithophysae the mine produces a rhyolithic rock, so called “rainforest-Jasper” (9, 10), wich is composed of a big amount of small lithophysae - each one is different to its neighbor!

Until the year 2002 it was possible to dig for agates by paying a small fee. But because of an accident they stopped this service at Mount Hay.
