Mount agate is an agate site near the town of Payson. Usually vein-agates can be found in the upper parts of the Hill. However many agates and fragments are enriched in the talus. The multicoloured and nicely banded agate material of this site unfortunately has a serious drawback: it is usually extremely bruised, even fragmented. With some effort, collectors can find pretty but small pieces, from which they can cut awesome cabochons.
