In the last years Mali was focused by mineral collectors because of the findings of magnificent garnet crystals up to 20cm diameter and the pretty prehnite spheres on epidote, which are available since the year 2004 on the mineral-market.

A very special kind of agate now found in a small number of specimen its way to Europe. The agate collector and -dealer Peter Jeckel from Worms is offering naturally black colored onyx, which is showing a beautifully black-and-white pattern under the name african black lace agate*. With its name cousin, the mexican lace agate it has not only the structure in common, also its formation in sediments agrees. *
