Nodules from Loma Pinta (painted hill) are found on Rancho El Diablo, about 15 miles east of Estacion Moctezuma. More exactly in the reddish-brown andesite of Cerro Brejo de Diablo (devils needle). There has been no active collecting since the early 1970s. The agates are very similar to Moctezuma Agates.
They are out of a weathered andesite and do not show signs of transportation. The outer coating is smooth, its colour is green to reddish-brown. Banding shows pale pastel colours, sometimes with dark spots.
Further informations are given from Brad L. Cross in his book “The Agates of Northern Mexico”, page 81-82.
