In the surrounding fields of the village Le Blanc near Vienne  flints can be collected, which can be worked on very well and which also take a very good polish. The colors of these lively structured flints are sometimes from red over brown tones to yellow, rarely to green. Sometimes marine fossils do occur  in the flints, which become recognizable in the polished section.
