On the heights between Abtweiler and Lauschied agates with fine banding and strong contrasts can be found now and then. Colored stones in red, yellow or blue are very rare. Within a closely limited finding range a curious material is showing up(11; 12): It resembles the North American gem stone Binghamit in the appearance. It shows a chatoyance, which probably is resulting here from fine parallel growing of chalcedony-fibres. No pseudomorphic formation is present after a mineral formed in former times. To appeal it as quartz cat eye - whose formation is caused by inclusions of further minerals - would take away the genetic characteristic of this material The find density within this range is however very small.
