Agates of Las Plumas are formations in Lithophyae, so-called “thunder eggs”. The Lithophysae are showing rarely star shaped cavities, but are usually strongly blown up, nearly globular. In the external area of the agates fragments of the surrounding matrix are implanted. The agates from this location are showing only few colors. For the place of discovery the occurrence of “water-level-banding” is typical.
