South-west of Ilgesheim the ancient agate pits are situated in the hillsides of the Weiselstein Mountain. In many places in the forest little agate diggings are present. One can find superficial only fragments and relicts of agate nodules in this region however. A small place of discovery in the proximity of this classical agate-locations was opened by tracked vehicles . Here could be saved a multiplicity of small, partly multicolored-colored nodules. However nearly all specimen were impaired by cracking.

It is absolutely forbidden to collect any minerals at this place, because this location is a part of the artillery range area. Militarypolice is controling even this abandoned area regulary
