The Japanese agate fabrication, which reaches up to our present, is situated in the South of the island of Hokkaido, on the Oshima peninsula. Hanaishi was the most important production site. Here, agates have been found as well as in the remaining Prefecture Setana in a variety of smaller sites. The here shown agate, which has a yellowish orange tint, comes from one of these sites.
Hideharu Yamada is offering a lot of information about japanese agate and others on his website www.lithos-graphics.com.
