The Heimersheimer Hoehe between Alzey and Heimersheim is a location to find agate-nodules at their place of origin. Agates from this place are showing a rough skin. Usually the colorization of the agates is weak. Very interesting is the formation of  “water-level-agate” in combination with fortification-agate at this location. At this place amethyst and smoky-quartz are occuring too. Perimorphic formations after Carbonates are not rare. Uncommon is the find of a flintlike chalcedony with agate in fissures.
