The vein-agates from Hasborn and Dautweiler are similar to those from Steinbach and Scheuern. It is very difficult to collect in this region because the different very small locations are separated from each other by large distances. Only patience and skillness will lead to succes in finding these very nice specimen.

More common than agate in this region is vein-jasper in yellow, red and orange colours. They are containing sometimes high amounts of iron-oxides. This oxides are producing very nice structures in the jaspers. Jasp-agates are fairly common to. Very rare are fine banded agates in white, pink, red and yellow orange. Sometimes pseudomorphic formations after nodular iron-oxides are occuring too. Some jaspers are reminding in their structure the “Membrantrümmer- phenomenon”.
