“...Material provided with the designation „Poppy Jasper “ was discovered at the middle of the 1960ies in a commercial quarry at the upper end of the Guadelupe reservoir at the southern periphery of San José in the Clara Couty. Contrary to the by far more well-known „Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper “ that is composed only by quartz, the „Guadalupe Reservoir Poppy Jasper“ consists of white to bluish-grey grossular-crystals (a garnet) in a rather dark base material. The material is also well-known under the trade name „Galaxy Jasper “. Today this material is however rarely offered...”
