Gimbweiler is one of the most western orientated agate-finding locations in the Saar-Nahe-Senke. Agates from this location are showing a lot of similarities to the agates from Hahnweiler, but some details are distinctive. “Cloudy-Agates” are quiet common but unless the Hahnweiler specimen are simply white and grey structured, the specimen from Gimbweiler are showing pastels. Specimen only grinded from the surface are showing very interesting patterns.
In Gimbweiler sometimes pseudomorphic formations from Chalcedony after Aragonite do occur.
The latest formations in the geodes are zeolithic minerals such as chabazite.
