Also Frohnhausen is one of the abandoned and destructed settlements on the artillery range area - one of the so-called “Wüstungen”. In the surrounding area of these “Wüstung” by coworkers of the artillery range area command intensively colored and partly strongly banded agates were found.Some of them are exposed in the museum below the curch-in-rock in Idar Oberstein.

It is absolutely forbidden to collect any minerals at this place, because this location is a part of the artillery range area. Militarypolice is controling even this abandoned area regulary.
