In the year 2005 the mineral club Freisen within the eastern range of the Freisener Hoehe accomplished in  the forest an excavation. Despite substantial expenditure only few interesting specimen could be saved. Interesting beside the occurrence of intensively coloured red stones was the occurrence of agates with the holospherulithical pattern.
