At the banks of the Nahe river it is possible in dry winters to collect agate-pebbles. Zones, which normally are lying in the deeper water, are then accessible. The agates are coming from the places of discovery situated above Frauenberg such as Hoppstaedten, Rimsberg etc. This gravel is only little stressed by the transportation and only marginally edge-rounded. Also they are showing often  their original colors.
