The so-called “Transtrand conglomerate” from Sweden was formed in several steps. The volcanic host rock of the agates formed in the northern Dalarna approximately 1.9 billion years ago. These rocks disintegrated completely and only the physically resistant agate nodules remained. These were besieged and concentrated by water. Together with other rocks a conglomerate was formed. This conglomerate was eroded again and spread by glaciers. Specimen of this rock can be found in Sweden, close of the place of origin near Västerdaläven or glazial moved in gravel pits of Northern Germany .
