“... I found the pail of roughs from deceased Peter Ghitney's estate and I was told that they came from somewhere between Cook's Peak and Hatch. Peter G. may be the only one who know where he got them from and he's already dead. The banded agates appear to be mostly white to gray, sometimes with black, yellow and red colors. Some came with sagenite fans, "mud" bottoms and needle inclusions. ...There is a known vein of poorly silicified plume material on the eastern flank of the ravine leading to Cook's Peak.....”
