In the Cheswick Quarry agate specimen up to a diameter of 40 cm in a firm devonian limestone are found. These specimen are containing rarely complete larger agates, usually are there smaller agate structures in nests. These smaller agates are usually whitish, creamy or reddish colored. Often these agateized ranges are on the inside hollow. Some of these pieces show whitish nobby-like formations, which - moistened - change to a red colour.

At present the quarry is unfortunately not publicly accessible.
