The finding region around the Breitsesterhof, a small village between Baumholder and Kusel, was more poular for its findings of agates in earlier days. In particular the fields on the north side of the mountain rim towards Thallichtenberg led many colored agate nodules. Unfortunately most of these fields were converted into green areas. However one can find today with some luck beautiful agates on the few remaining fields.
