home / agates worldwide / Southamerica / Brazil / Rio Grande do Sul / Walter Veeck, 2002

Walter Veeck Co.. was selling in the year 2002 agates from two different locations to me.

Agates from the first lot are having an approximatly size from 30 - 100 mm in diameter. Theses nodules are not waterworn, their skin is undammaged. The pattern is dominated by shades of grey, white and pitchblack. Chromatografies can be found too. Pseudomorphs after scalenoedric crystals of Calcite and mossy-like inclusions inclusions are rare.

Agates from the second lot are having an approximatly size from 50 - 90 mm in diameter. These nodules are slightly waterworn. “Water-level” formations are quiet common. Some patterns are showing big, single standing spherulithics. The colours of these agates are dominated by a reddish to yellowish brown.
