From the Wolfstein Mountain at Bergheim in the Vosges Mountain Ridge, near to the ancient mining-town Saint Marie-aux-Mines, interesting vein-agates are known. They occur in lightly brownish, whitish and reddish colours in combination with deeply red hematite and purple amethyste. The width of this veins is usually about 10 cm, very rare the veins are expanded up to 25cm.
