If one continues to browse while agate collecting in the region Berschweiler a bit too far, one reaches the village of  Bergen. Here now no more agates are to be found unfortunately. Other happy findings can be however perhaps small (up to 10 cm large) biconoidal objects, hiding a secret inside. These are “Toneisenstein-Geodes”, which represented in former times, at present the Celts, an important role as ironore suppliers. Inside the Geode usually is a fossil. Here in Bergen these are usually remainings of plants.

In 2012, A. Kittelmann could find agates at Samenberg (7, 8). Those are similar to the agates from Berschweiler at  Kirn. Jasper (9, 10) he found above the abandoned quarry of  Bergen.
