home / agates worldwide / Europe / Scotland / Balmerino

The agate-finding location Balmerino is situated at the Tay. Collectors can find at this place besides the conventional fine-banded agates very interesting mossy-agates.

“...Agates are found along the shore near Balmerino in the beach gravel. Agates are typically small and white or red/brown colors. They are not very plentiful. The one large agate I found there ( 03 ) was quite exceptional in its size...” according to personal communication with Alexander Cooper
