The sandstone near the little village Welscheid near Sarrebourg in Alsace is extremly poor in interesting mineralisations. But in the 1990ies a several meters wide silificated bank was offering to collectors nice little crystallized quartz-clusters and specimen of the so called Coral-agate. This agate-variety is reminding corals because of its bulby structure. The coral-agates from this location are showing pinkish and reddish tones.
