Keweenaw Point is a quite well-known place for agate-finding, in order to be able to dig Lake Superior agates directly from the hostrock, in which they formed. They show usually somewhat pale tones in pink and rosé, accented with red. A few miles direction to Lake Superior the island Manitou Island is situated,on which quite similarly formed agates can be found.
