...Material provided with the designation Poppy Jasper was discovered at the middle of the 1960ies in a commercial quarry at the upper end of the Guadelupe reservoir at the southern periphery of San José in the Clara Couty. Contrary to the by far more well-known Morgan Hill Poppy Jasper that is composed only by quartz, the Guadalupe Reservoir Poppy Jasper consists of white to bluish-grey grossular-crystals (a garnet) in a rather dark base material. The material is also well-known under the trade name Galaxy Jasper . Today this material is however rarely offered...
